is the #712 Teddy Tooter pull toy made by Fisher Price in 1957-1959.
As you can see from the pictures, this old toy is in
extraordinary condition. The only flaw I can find is a small chip
in the blue wood base (see second picture above).
are no other chips or breaks in the wood. The litho on Teddy on
all sides is nearly perfect. You'll find no tears, stains or
missing pieces. I did find minor puckering of some of the lithos.
This is caused by the drying out of the wood underneath, and is
normal for a wooden toy this old. The colors on the lithos are
really incredibly vibrant for a toy that's well over 50 years old.
The painted surfaces on the base, the wheels and even the edges
of Teddy are also in excellent condition. It appears that this
toy had very little (if any) play time. There is just no wear on
it. There are no breaks or cracks in Teddy's white plastid horn.
The rear wheels still have their rubber treads, and even the
original pull string is attached.
Best of all this toy is in
perfect working condition. As you roll it, Teddy's arms and head
move up and down and his horn toots just as it should.
